Then came the corporate rock scene which was still great but based on a formula that diminished the creativity of many bands. The following list ranks the 50 greatest classic rock songs of all time. To be eligible for this list, the song had to have been released from 1962 to 1983. Also heavy metal, mainstream pop, or Doo-Wop songs were not even considered.
